Thy Kingdom Come

So the Mustard Seed is becoming a new and important lesson in the Kingdom of God.

Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds.“The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seedthat a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.”
Matthew 13: 31-32 (see also Luke 13:18-19)

This reminds me of lyrics of the song by Newsong called "Sheltering Trees":

We all need sheltering trees,

friends in our lives who get down on their knees,

lift us up before the King of Kings,

we all need sheltering trees.
Some one likened the mustard seed plant to the sheltering tree. Isn't that what God's kingdom is all about? Building the kingdom of God on earth in preparation for entering God's kingdom in Heaven. Not that we need to earn our way, just so we know how to act once we get there because face it many of us don't know what it means to serve, worship and praise God as we ought to.
